This year for the Menehune Surf Contest down in La Jolla we made it a long weekend get away for the family. Friday night headed down for a yummy dinner at Jakes in Del Mar, Saturday we were at the contest all day! My kids did awesome and had so much fun! Christian got 3rd in his 1st heat, followed by 2nd in his 2nd heat, then took 3rd in the finals! Layne got 1st in her 1st heat and also got 1st in her finals! We had so much fun hanging with the Spooner, Baumann and Ustick Families. That night my family enjoyed swimming and dinner at the hotel pool, followed by a fun day surfing and hanging with the Ustick family at Del Mar Beach! This was Christian's 6th year and Layne's 5th year at the contest.
